Deb grew up in Collingwood, and is still proud to call it home.
After completing her secondary school education at Collingwood Collegiate (where she spent most of her time in the school's music rooms), she moved on to York University (where she spent most of her time in the school's music rooms). She graduated with a Spec. Hons. B.A. in Music, focusing on voice and ethnomusicology. From there, it was a year at Queen's University where she received her B.Ed. (Intermediate-Senior vocal music and history).
Upon returning to Collingwood in 2000, she joined the adult choir and Singing Christmas Tree, becoming a member of First Pres in 2001. This marked the beginning of a long journey of faith through her continuous involvement with First Pres Music Ministries.
After leaving the world of music education in 2009, Deb turned her attention to Human Resources, especially training & development and health & safety. She has completed Human Resources training and is employed at Tatham Engineering where that plays a large role in her day-to-day life.
In her spare time, Deb can be found playing instruments/singing at home and in the community, cooking/baking, knitting/cross-stitching, and spending time with family and friends.
Deb is honoured to fill the role of Director of Music Ministries at First Pres (where she will spend most of her time in the church's music rooms)!
